Happy Reef Pics Monday

It’s Monday.  Long day at work?  Yeah, me too.  One of my favorite things to do when I get home from work is chill out in front of the tank for a bit with a tiki drink.  Let’s call it a mini vacation to the tropics.

Krusty the Maroon Clownfish hanging out with his host Frogspawn coral.

I grabbed my camera to share a few pics.  Above is Krusty the Maroon Clown.  Most of my fish are named after characters from The Simpsons.  Krusty has been in the tank for a few years now.  I don’t have an anemone, but he has been hosting with my Frogspawn since he was added to the tank.  When I transferred all of the inhabitants over from the 120 gallon to the 180, Krusty found his favorite coral very quickly and rarely ventures more than a couple of feet from it.

Nelson (Lemon Peel, Centropyge Flavissima) looking hungry next to my saucer-sized plating Montipora.

Centropyge flavissima, Lemon Peel dwarf angelfish, Nelson, bully.  Lots of different names.  Nelson lives up to many of the stereotypes of dwarf angelfish.  He’s aggressive, picks at everything, and is damn near impossible to kill.  Nelson is one of the originals of the reef incarnation of the 120 gallon aquarium.  He has been a member of my reef community for about 6 years and is tough as nails.  He’s also fat.  He eats everything. But, he’s a favorite member of the family.

More focused posts will follow soon.  I promise.  Stay tuned.
